The secret of our success is that when a deaf child finishes school at EDUPLEX they speak fluently, are not dependent on sign language interpreters and they can follow any career of their choice like their normally hearing friends.
Our 7 full-time speech-language therapists and audiologists not only support the 70 deaf children but also have their own private sessions which allows the parents to continue with the programme at home - one of the pillars of Eduplex's success. Eduplex has more than 100 children, of whom 70 are deaf and more than 50% of these deaf children are dependent on financial support.
At Eduplex, hearing aids and cochlear implants are used optimally to ensure that all our deaf children have the best access to sound, speech, and language, to improve learning and achieve academic excellence. Eduplex has the largest installation of classroom amplification systems in the world, enabling both the deaf and normally hearing children to hear and understand irrespective of the background noise or where they are seated in the classroom. These systems contribute significantly to classroom discipline.
